NEXT STEP

06 · Improve & Re-Scan

Fix worthwhile issues, record your current assessment as a baseline and re-scan after meaningful changes.

The Scanner is a diagnostic starting point — not a prediction.

A score or finding reflects observable signals found by the Scanner and the rules/version used for that assessment. It does not guarantee search-engine ranking, AI inclusion, citation, recommendation, traffic, leads or sales.

YOUR RESULTS · AT A GLANCE

What Will I Receive?

AI Visibility Score An overall readiness score and result band to use as a diagnostic baseline.
Observable Evidence What the Scanner found, did not find or believes deserves human review.
Top 3 Priorities Three deterministic priority actions based on the evidence and rules for your scan.
Improvement Options Routes to guidance and further help if you want to improve what was found.
DETAILED GUIDE · 01

Before You Start

The aiVIP™ AI & Search Visibility Scanner is a free, evidence-led website assessment designed to identify observable signals that may be relevant to AI and search visibility readiness.

It combines a bounded scan of publicly accessible website resources with business-context information that you provide.

What You Need
Your Name First name is required. Last name is optional.
Your Email Enter a valid email address.
Website URL The public website address you want to assess.
Basic Business Knowledge A general understanding of how your organisation manages its website and public content.

Tip: Copy and paste your public website address directly from your browser rather than typing it from memory.

DETAILED GUIDE · 02

Why Does the Scanner Ask Questions?

Some useful business information cannot be reliably established by a bounded technical website scan. The questionnaire adds important business context.

Website Content

Do you publish useful articles, FAQs, industry reports or case studies?

Our People

Are authors identified? Are owners, key staff and industry experts publicly represented?

Online Search Visibility

Do you check search results, monitor website traffic and observe how AI search systems describe you?

Legal & Compliance

Are your About, Contact, Privacy/GDPR and relevant Terms pages maintained?

Business context and observed evidence are kept separate.

Your questionnaire answers are self-reported business context. They are not automatically treated as independently verified technical evidence.

An evidence-led assessment should not imply that it has verified something it has only been told.

Consent Choices

Consent to process the assessment is required. Receiving a copy of the assessment by email is handled separately. Newsletter subscription is an optional, separate choice and is not required to run the scan.

DETAILED GUIDE · 03

What Does the Scanner Actually Examine?

When you select Run my assessment, the Scanner makes bounded requests to publicly accessible website resources and applies deterministic rules to the evidence it can observe.

Technical Health

Basic technical accessibility and delivery signals affecting whether the public website can be reached and interpreted reliably.

AI Access

Public access controls and AI/search discovery files or resources that the Scanner can check.

Discoverability

Signals that help search systems discover and identify the public site and its preferred URLs or resources.

Content & Entity

Observable content and entity signals that may help make the organisation, subject and page purpose clearer.

Structured Data

Machine-readable structured information detected on the site, where applicable.

Accessibility

Selected observable accessibility-related signals that can also improve clarity and usability.

The Scanner does not need your website administration login, passwords or access to confidential systems.

The current Scanner uses deterministic, rules-based runtime analysis. Its assessment does not depend on an AI API.

DETAILED GUIDE · 04

Understanding Your Results

When the assessment completes, the results are displayed in your browser. The dashboard provides several levels of information rather than only a headline score.

AI Visibility Score Overall readiness score, result band and scan metadata.
Technical Evidence Observable findings presented in human-friendly language.
Top Priorities Three priority actions derived from the evidence and scan rules.
Improvement Options Routes to further guidance and help after reviewing your findings.

What Do the Result Statuses Mean?

POSITIVE

Good — Found by Scanner

The relevant observable signal was detected.

What to do: Keep it maintained and make sure the underlying information remains accurate.

REVIEW

You Should Check This Issue

Something may need human review or cannot be fully judged automatically.

What to do: Open the Learn More guidance or review the item manually before making a change.

NOT DETECTED

Not Found / Consider Adding

The Scanner did not detect the expected signal or resource.

What to do: Confirm whether it is genuinely absent and whether it is relevant to your site before deciding what to change.

“Not found” does not automatically mean “install this immediately”.

Understand the finding, its relevance and the limitations of automated testing before making changes.

DETAILED GUIDE · 05

Your Assessment Email

Important

If you choose to receive a copy, aiVIP sends an assessment email based on the scan that has already been completed.

The email does not trigger a second scan. It is intended to give you a portable record of the same assessment.

The email can include your score and result summary, observable findings, three priority recommendations, links to further guidance, improvement options and a route to re-scan after making changes.

DETAILED GUIDE · 06

What Should You Do After the Scan?

You do not have to buy anything to make the assessment useful.

01 · PRIORITISE Read the three Top Priorities before changing anything.
02 · UNDERSTAND Open Learn More for findings you do not recognise.
03 · VERIFY Separate observed technical evidence from self-reported business context.
04 · IMPROVE Fix obvious inaccuracies or worthwhile missing basics first.
05 · RE-SCAN Compare the evidence after meaningful changes, not only the headline score.
Treat your first assessment as a baseline. Improvement is more useful when you can compare what actually changed.
SUPPORTING FRAMEWORK

The aiVIP CLEAR™ Framework

CLEAR™ is aiVIP's business-facing framework for explaining five conditions that can influence how clearly a business exists in an AI-first discovery environment.

C · COMPREHENDED Can AI understand what you do?
L · LOCATED Can AI and search systems find your information?
E · EVIDENCED Are your claims supported by credible evidence?
A · ATTRIBUTED Can important information be traced to a credible source?
R · REFERABLE Could your business be a credible candidate for referral or recommendation?

CLEAR™ is a diagnostic framework, not a guarantee.

It does not claim that an AI system follows a fixed five-step sequence or that satisfying these conditions guarantees citation, ranking or recommendation.

PRIVACY · CONSENT · SECURITY

What Information Does the Scanner Need?

Public Website Only

The Scanner assesses publicly accessible website resources and does not require private website credentials.

Assessment Consent

Consent to process the assessment is required to perform the scan.

Email Choice

The assessment-email preference is separate from newsletter consent.

Newsletter Choice

Newsletter consent is optional and can be withdrawn.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

aiVIP Scanner FAQs

Does the Scanner use AI to decide my score?

No. The current runtime analysis is deterministic and rules-based and does not require an AI API.

Does it need my website login?

No. The assessment is designed around publicly accessible website resources.

Will a high score guarantee that an AI system recommends my business?

No. The score reflects observable signals under the Scanner/rules version used. It does not guarantee ranking, inclusion, citation or recommendation.

Why does the Scanner also ask questions?

The questions provide business context that may not be reliably observable from a bounded technical scan.

Can I scan again after making changes?

Yes. Re-scanning is encouraged after meaningful improvements so you can compare the observable evidence.

What if I don't understand a result?

Use the Learn More guidance where available. It is intended to explain what the finding means, why it may matter, what was tested and what you can check next.
